Somehow my old house in Davis got away with a fully amped, full drum kit, reasonably rowdy three-band bill in the backyard after dark last weekend. And it was great! Our collective favorite, Dreamdate from San Francisco, headlined, playing a lot of songs from their brand new album.
However, my favorite song is still one from their first 7-inch, “The One I Need”:

Their third and newest album, their first 12-inch release, is called “Melody Walk” (Tic Tac TOTALLY), and it’s completely different from their second album, just like that one was completely different from their first.
That said, it’s wonderful! It’s dynamic, diverse, catchy as hell and beautifully engineered by Greg Ashley (from the Gris Gris). I recommend it.
