FYF Fest: Four Tet

I got peer-pressured into attending the redundantly titled FYF Fest on Saturday. And even though I inhaled so much dust and secondhand smoke that my lungs hurt the next morning, it was worth it to watch Four Tet from the front row.

Kieran Hebden looks kind of like a zombie, with seemingly perpetual dark circles under his eyes — or maybe that’s because I’ve only seen him at festivals where he’s flown in day of from some other festival — and so intensely concentrating on his performance. But every time the music lulled and the crowd cheered, his focus broke as he looked out at us with a big smile.
